Nuzlocke Challenge
#16
Pretty sure I'm going to start a Nuzlocke randomizer challenge for Ruby or Sapphire. The randomizer basically randomizes what monsters appear in each area of the game, going to use it just so playing through it is a little more fun. Probably also going to update with a bunch of shitty ms paint drawings if anyone cares.

I am now interested in doing the Joey challenge. Is that when all you can have is rattatas?

Yeah, the rules are that you have to name your character Joey, and you can only use a Rattata throughout the entire game. You can't evolve him either, it has to stay as a Rattata.

I beat that challenge easily, it sounded hard, but I got through it in a flash. The bad thing is, I forgot to name my character Joey.

So a single Rattata? I assume you can heal whenever you want and what not? It does sound interesting and when my gf leaves my house in the middle of August I can freely stream and that might be what I first stream haha.

Yeah just a single Rattata, and yeah you can heal whenever you want and yadadada.
I want to try combining it with Nuzlocke rules and see how far I get, just because I hate myself like that.

Also, I'm doing a Soul Silver Nuzlocke run, and I fucking hate the Dragon gym, because there are only 2 dragons in the whole damn thing.

SO, STORY TIME, I was lucky enough to catch a Seel, then I trained him up to a badass Dewgong with Hail and Blizzard and I was all psyched to take on the Dragon gym. I walk in, and everyone is using Seadras. Seriously, there were 2 Dratinis and one Dragonair, everyone else was using Seadras. After that long adventure, I made it to the gym leader and A. All of her pokes are way higher than the last gym, including a level 45 Kingdra which kicked my ass.
C. All of her pokes have Dragon Pulse, which is really effing strong
4. ONLY TWO OF HER POKES ARE WEAK TO ICE! Which is sort of Dragon's main weakness I thought. Her first one is a Gyarados that I was able to counter with my Kadabra's Charge Beam thankfully, then a Dratini and Dragonair who went down thanks to Dewgong, but then, BUT THEN, Kingdra came out. For one, Kingdra has LITERALLY ONE WEAKNESS which is Dragon type moves, and at this point there's really no way you could have any dragon pokemon on your team. THEN, she has more than the maximum PP for Dragon Pulse, which is her strongest attack that wrecked my team. I counted too, she did it 22 times while I spammed Hyper Potions, the very maximum PP it can have is 16. THEN, after whittling it down with Hail and Blizzards that did almost nothing (because apparently being ridiculously fast and having absurd Special Attack isn't good enough, so they made it bulky as shit too), she just hyper potioned and continued to Dragon Pulse.

Everyone on my team died. Hooray. In the interest of my own sanity, I'm just not going to count that one and retrain.

I've been meaning to start a Nuzlocke. I don't have a soul, so Losing pokemans shouldn't be too hard. Which game should I do; Yellow, Crystal, Leaf or Sapphire?

Up to you, I'd say Leaf just because it' feels more straightforward than crystal or sapphire.

I lost. Was playing Leaf Green against my sister on Fire Red, and I lost at the 2nd Dumbutt (Rival) fight.

You could always try sapphire. I recommend you skip the second gym. Brawly's Makuhita is a murderer.

REST IN PEACE LUIGI THE SHROOMISH
FUCK YOU ARM THRUST

On my last one I lucked out and caught a Sabeleye that I just used to wall his whole team.
ALSO, in Soul Silver I got a Jumpluff and my Dewgong is level 45, I think I'm ready to try the Dragon gym again.

So I will do a Joey run, or attempt one, when my gf moves out in the middle of August. I really do not have the personal space to do it right now which is sad because I have so many games I want to stream now.

I decided to try one. Just a few minutes ago. On Fire Red. I decided to start out with Squirtle, since Bulbasuar (in my opinion) stinks, and I've beaten the game with Charmander.

I named the cute little guy Jorge. And, the thing fainted IN THE VERY FIRST BATTLE WHEN OAK GIVES YOU THE POKEMON AGAINST THE RIVAL!!! HE NEVER LANDED A SINGLE ATTACK!!! 6 MISSES IN A ROW!!!

I think the game hates me.

Jesus, missing a 95% accuracy move 6 times in a row? Go buy a lottery ticket.

I decided to try AGAIN. With another Squirtle named Jorge. And I STILL lost the first battle. My rival (named HE-MAN) landed 3 critical hits in a row. 3!!!

This game either really hates me, or it thinks Jorge is an awful name for a Squirtle.
