I just watched the new X and Y series of the Pokémon Anime.
It looks pretty damn cool, and I'm actually going to watch this entire season. Hell, in the second episode Ash has to deal with a Garchomp destroying Lumiose City.

I just caught my first shiny Pokemon ever. It's a purdy blue Yanma, I ran into him by mistake while I was trying to EV train my Shellos in defense.
Bad news is that I have to reset my Shellos's EVs because he was in a hoard of other Yanmas, good news is that Yanma has a great nature so he's going to be my first competitively useful shiny as well.

I used a Yanmega in generation 4 and it was pretty awesome, however I found that it took ages to get the right ability as I wanted the speed boost ability rather then compound eyes. Congrats on the shiny!

Thanks, also Tinted Lens is supposed to be a great ability on him.
Also, does anyone have any method of grinding for xp quickly? I have a few fully EV trained guys in the 30's I want to get up to the 50's.

I'm assuming this is X & Y. Usually I will give the lucky egg to the Pokemon I want to train and then I will run through the Battle Chateau, if the Pokemon are much higher levelled then I will swap out to a stronger Pokemon in my party. After that I will go to somewhere that has high levelled Pokemon. (Usually the Pokemon Village or Victory Road) And swap out the Pokemon at the very start of the battle. (This is assuming they are EV trained.)
Also using this same technique for battling the rival is quite good as well and it will provide quite a lot of EXP.
As well if your Pokemon has an attack that can hit multiple targets (Such as Earthquake and Discharge) Then you should always fight the hordes whenever they pop up because its easy EXP.
There most likely is a better way out there but I haven't got to play Pokemon Y as much as I would've wished and this is the technique I have used on my competitive Pokemon!

Speaking of victory road, I hate how in R/S/E every single creature there has either Roar or Whirlwind. You get their HP down to near zero and they end the battle. Oh, and by every creature I mean every single thing except for Zubat and Golbat. Thanks Gamefreak.

Worth noting as well that Horde Pokemon have a chance having a hidden ability.
200 hours now on Pokemon. Hype!

I hate the victory roads in every game, more mandantory trainer battles than ever, and it's too late to pick up a new pokemon (Except for in black where I picked up a Zewilous) I just wanna go to the Elite 4 by that point.

I'm jealous! But I didn't know about the hidden abilities in hordes I thought that was just for the friend safari. I do like how easy it is to improve IVS though the Destiny Knot is so useful!

Ehhh. I'm thankful it's there, but wow is it tedious; mainly because you can't choose which 5 IVs are passed down.
RNG Abuse hype.
As soon as Pokebank comes out, oh damn so many of my Pokemon and being traded. 4-5 IV Pokemon for sale.

I'm getting a 3ds and X next week and I was wondering how much endgame content is there? The last game I bought was White and there was virtually nothing to do once you beat the game.

I heard the main game is kinda quick and the majorady of the game is "Post-Elite Four" stuff. I only know this because my brother told me.

Compared to Black/White 2 or pretty much any game, X and Y is the most rushed Pokemon ever made to the point that I'm pretty disappointed in the gameplay. Post-elite 4 doesn't exist, catching new Pokemon in new environments is made irrelevant due to the Friend Safari and there's no new Island to discover outside of Kiloude city which is for the IV judge, Friend Safari and Battle Maison. After a month with this game, it should've been delayed until next year until it was finished.
