Hellsing Ultimate, Parasyte, and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood are some of my favorites.

I read Manga more then I watch anime.

I only recently been watching anime,
Like decent ones apart from Pokemon and Dragonball/Dragonball Z,
I started off with Sword Art Online, first anime I have watched from start to end, really enjoyed it.
Then worked my way through Mirai Nikki, Death Note, Another, Claymore and Elfen Lied.
Out of what I watched, Death Note was bloody awesome but I really favorite between Claymore and Mirai Nikki.

Auuh I used to watch a lot of anime, but I really haven't in a while.
My favorites are: Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, DragonBall Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Pokemon. Fooly Cooly also gets a mention for being completely crazy.

I'm glad I watch Toonami/Adult Swim as a kid, that's pretty much where all my anime came from.
(Also yayy I'm glad some other people in this thread watched Outlaw Star)

If you're looking for a nostalgia overload, Toonami exists again, Saturday at 11:00 P.M. central time, it doesn't have any of the old animes on, but TOM was enough for me to want to go back. Gotta say it was worth going back because they actually buy new anime again instead of it just being the same old stuff every night, I can actually watch TV for anime again.

Only the best anime. All years.

Jokes aside though, Jojo is really the only anime I'm currently watching.

In the manga department I'm in the current Jojolion and Hunter x Hunter chapters (the author's hiatus is taking forever again) and just slightly behind the latest One Piece chapters.

For anything else i've read/watched there's this so I don't flood the thread http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Mutsukki

Just having another JoJo fan is enough to make my day.

I used to be into Anime....and then it turned to the worst crowd ever. I like the older Animes and I don't instantly dismiss any new Anime/Manga as bad, just everything that's suggested to me is bland and terrible. (Still open to suggestions).

Probably gonna end up watching Jojos Bizarre Adventure at some point(in time for the upcoming game).

I get that. A lot of the newer ones follow a generic storyline, usually similar to a shonen story. But, as with most things, there are the gems that defy the basic formulas. Since I've gotten into it now, I would suggest Madoka Magica. It looks like a plain magic girl anime at first. Emphasis on 'at first.'

I just recently watched Sky Crawlers that I got on bluray. Gotta love Mamoru Oshii's films, I don't think there's one I hadn't liked. The overall plot and style in his stuff does feel consistent and I love it.

Angel Beats. Not sure if that's really your type of series (because I really don't know what you're into in these) but that one really surprised me. I went into it just because I liked the style but hot damn, was it good.

Same here, only got into it recently.

So far I've watched FLCL, which I loved and shockingly understand. Then I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion, which I loved and didn't understand a bit of. My friend convinced me to watch Upotte!!, which was surprisingly good but borderline soft-core porn. It helped break up the depression of NGE nicely though. I just finished watching Cowboy Bebop, and I love it so much. I still need to watch the Cowboy Bebop Movie and the NGE Rebuild (although I've watched End of Eva).
After that I've a long list of anime to watch. I'll probably watch Trigun or Sword Art Online next, they've been recommended to me a few times.

I tend to actually buy this stuff instead of looking for it online. Out of all the films I've collected in my years animated films and series compose propably the second biggest amount of discs and tapes I own.

Now, I only tend to buy the movies since I'd propably be broke with the amount I've seen if I actually had bought all the series too. If the series is interesting enough I'll consider getting it in a box set. As for manga and comics, I always go for the printed media.

People call me an otaku, and I wont deny it, however compared to others out there, I am only like a level 20 otaku. I am no longer the beginner, but I still have a lot to learn. I have a bookshelf with a lot of manga, most of which I have read (excluding soul eater as I was watching the anime at the time of purchase, so I kind of put it off for a while) but have gotten a lot of others. I have some megaman manga, a few .hack ones, a lot of haruhi suzumiya ones, all the zelda mangas, up to date with fairy tail, have all 4 issues of monster hunter, most of pokemon, and have 3 issues of the rare to find electric tale of pikachu (just need volume 2 by chuang yi (the one with the Misty hot spring scene that VK took out))I do have others, but I cant be bothered looking for all the names.

I have watched a lot of anime over the years, and am currently on Fairy Tail at the moment (in english so I can still talk to friends at the same time) however am still looking for new series to get.

Other than these, I do have the small figurines from different series, and a few lucky star posters and calendars that my brother gave me from one of his monthly mangas from Japan (only way to get some .hack// mangas) and I do admittedly cosplay at conventions. Hopefully next month, I will be Kaiba from yugioh.

I'm tossing around the idea of hosting a Anime watching night, and I'm currently looking into ways to do it, so I figured I'll go ahead to take an interest check.

How I plan for this to work:

-Each week there will be a theme: "Let's Recommend", "Bad Anime Theater", "Anime Movie night", etc.

-Everyone picks 1 anime that goes with the theme, and we watch the first episode of that anime. (For movie night it'll have to put to a vote, since we can't watch a bunch of Movies in one go.)

There will be more to it, depending on whether I can test this out.

So if you're interested or have any questions let me know.
