The Startropics series is Nintendo's only series to have never been released in Japan.
Both games were released in the States originally. The first game was released in Europe originally, but the sequel was not. However, both games were released on the Virtual Console in the US and Europe.

Every other Nintendo series (Mario, Yoshi, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Pikmin, Mother, Kid Icarus, Starfy, F-Zero, Golden Sun, Punch-out, Donkey Kong, and the Wario series of games, etc.) with some staying exclusive to Japan.
