COMICS

I loved Sandman, dude. I always wished they'd make a novelization of the series, because I wanted to introduce the series to my book readin' friends.

This is my comic collection, kinda. I loaned out a number of comics and they're kinda missing in action, and I also have a box filled with more trades, but I can't find it.

Are the Chucky and 28 Days Later comics any good?

Also, what are the books on either side of the two Scott Pilgrim volumes? The one on the right looks kinda familiar.

I was never a fan of Chucky. It was a gift from a friend, who admitted she didn't like it either. The art is pretty cool. 28 Days Later was okay. The main character is the black girl whose name left me, and not Jim, which disappointed me because Cillian Murphy is my favorite actor. On the right of Scott Pilgrim, which I'm surprised you could see, is a comic called Afterlife. It's like a mix between a comic and a manga I suppose. It was mediocre. On the left is the Resident Evil Code Veronica novel.

I pay attention to detail :P Afterlife huh? Never heard of it, I guess I must've seen a similar skull on the spine of some other comic then.

Judging by the size of the CV volume I have to guess it's of the original run of the series? With this cover:

I'm not really a fan of the covers on the rereleases, they just reused renders from the games on those.

Yeah that stock Capcom art is pretty eh.

I've not bothered to update this thread but reading a crap ton more now. Picked up Ms.Marvel #3, Amazing Spiderman 1, One of the DC lenticuluars and managed to find a comic in which Batman fights Predator at a car boot sale.
Dafuq is this shit?

Shame, it has my favorite cover art in the series. And by that I mean the whole of the RE series, games and all.

I went to a comic book store and got random batman comics with some superman comics, though they aren't in order. I got a 1st print comic also *for those who don't understand what that is,its a first copy comic*. I'll be putting pictures on here soon or later.

I just finished Deadpool & Cable Ultimate Collection vol.1 and learnt that vol.3 is not available in my country for some reason, only vol.2 and even that's ridiculously expensive. Thankfully I found both on Amazon so now I'll just have to wait and hope they don't get caught in the customs.

Strange thing is that the picture they put on that book is from RE2, not CV. Or, well, from the RE2 part from the Chronicles games.

One comic series I wish they brought back and was really sad and bummed to find they canceled was The Runaways. This is a group of teens set in the Marvel Universe where they find out their parents are super villains and they as the title implies, runaway from home to figure things out.

They have a witch, a mutant, a girl with a genetically bred velociraptor that is psychically linked to her whose parents are time travelers, a jock kid with super scientist parents, an alien girl and their leader who is a genius with no powers but is the leader/strategist.

The series lasted for about 11 volumes and they crossed over into Young Avengers and the Skrull Invasion crossover arc they had a while back.

I loved that comic. And they didn't even end it with any conclusion either before going into hiatus. Just paused it all and then cancelled.

That actually sounds really interesting. Especially that raptor part. I wouldn't mind reading that if they ever continued it.

I read "Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe" yesterday, not bad, not bad. But I saw the end coming since the beginning.

I read Walkind Dead (when they are released in France so I can't speak about it in the WD thread awww...) and Blacksad when I see a new volume is relesaed. I was very disappointed witht the last Blacksad though...

After reading your post I decided to check it out myself, read through until the start of Killustrated and lost interest. I mean, I love Deadpool and all but making him serious about something kind of kills the character itself for me. I'll be passing the rest of the series.

At least Deadpool is more likely to be able to kill every hero, unlike Punisher, even though that did happen in one continuity.

I don't even care about this online webcomic called Hemlock I've been reading anymore. It had been months since I checked it, and I saw she uploaded only two new pages on July 22nd. She'll die before she finishes it.

She is the George RR Martin of Web Comics.

To be fair the initial story arc that they started with does have a conclusion. But then after that they tend to make the stories more reactive to their circumstances, and they have them in one weird situation after another with the final volume ending on a cliffhanger. The other crossover ones I haven't read so I don't know if they touch on the last volume's story or if that took place in the middle somewhere.

But yes, if you ever get a chance read the series. What they do have is really good and is in a way worth knowing they aren't going to finish it up or continue. I did hear rumblings off and on about a possible movie, but that is still in the planning/pre-production phase so nothing concrete.

I hope it does get made so that if it is successful it might spark interest to get the series continued. I mean even Joss Whedon had a stint at writing it.

*side note my signature picture below is a Runaway cover art*
