Shameless Self Promotion
Another speedrun. However, this is a totally different game than anything else I've posted here before. It's an extremely obscure title that was made by one man with RPG maker. You control time and items in a room with a "Clock of Atonement", but nothing else. You are play as a stalker who has accidentally murdered the room you love (whom you've never actually met and just have been stalking her). Using your new found control of time, you try to prevent yourself from murdering her. There are actually nearly 10 ways that you can fail and cause her death or your own. But, do it in the correct pattern, and you'll finally come across the true ending. It took me a little over 20 minutes to figure out how to win the first time I played; this took less than 3 minutes of gameplay. The game is Clock of Atonement and I recommend everyone play it.

Here's a download link for the game:

Uh huh. Cool. But to make that...
Someone has to sit down, look at the Video Game Industry, and say "Hey y'know, this is great but it needs stalkers and more murdering. I'm going to go downstairs next to my little girl dungeon and program this game."
New episode for my main series! Let's take a look at the surprisingly rich history behind Buck Bumble for the N64!

Really considering putting in a strict rule which is basically "No-one cares, don't post your failing YouTube channel".
Harsh I know but the amount of people who join the forum to post their own channel, especially in the case of this thread, completely stamps on the point of being a community.
There's a difference between people like Cosmyk and Arjahn who actively contribute to the forum while posting their channels as opposed to others who are here to try and get quick views from the DYKG/VGFacts brand.

Probably going to get slapped over the heads by the Admin and other mods for this post but I'm being to the point about this now.
Thought we already decided that was a thing.
I 100% agree with this rule. It's very annoying to see people advertising all the time and not really getting into the community, which is the whole point of a forum.

Okay, I understand that you want to maintain a community feel, and I respect that, but a couple of things.

One: I thought the entire point of this thread WAS to shamelessly self promote our videos, hence the title. If that isn't the case, then why not do something like... off the top of my head here, but have one thread where people can dump their videos if people feel they're just there to do that, and another thread where people who are active in the community can promote their content? With the latter being more moderated than the first, so as to keep things organized? (I honestly assumed that was already what was going on)

Two: I really wasn't sure where exactly to post the video, hence why it ended up moved to this thread. Originally, I posted it in Creative Discussion, because I honestly didn't know. However, not only was the video moved here by an admin (which, okay, I understand that), but even after being moved to someplace that I assumed was completely harmless, the only thing that's happened is people basically saying "get your crap out of here", which, to be honest? Really doesn't do much to encourage anyone to become involved in a community.

If my posting videos is frustrating, I can leave the forums alone, that's fine. But if you want me to get involved in the community, this really isn't a good first impression to give. I'll stop posting videos, but... I dunno, just consider what I said for future reference or something.
We still want you involved in the community. But here's the difference between say my personal spamming of my speedruns/marathons I've been involved in and your show.
So far, you have made 5 posts on the forums. 4 of this are directly related to your show. I'll make a guess that the posts involving promoting myself aren't as many as my posts proving trivia evidence. Not only that, I reguarly post in other sections too, adding to conversation.
Point is, video posting isn't bad in and of itself. However, this site is still primarily about video game trivia, not "watch my videos". We want you to contribute in that respect. If you do that, we won't mind you posting videos of yourself either. But you can't simply post your videos without contributing in any other way.
I'm sorry if this is confusing or coming across as too harsh.

No, your complaints are perfectly valid, and I don't find this harsh. I just wanted to offer my own perspective, if only for the sake of transparency and understanding, especially if there are others who might've had a similar experience.

I don't mind getting involved with the community in other ways, and throwing in my two cents here or there. But you can understand how this was kind of a bad first impression, right?
Buster, you have to see things from our perspective as well. While we appreciate the sudden dialogue, this isn't really an uncommon thing. Heck, I run a shop on Etsy so I know the need to advertise. Its just annoying seeing a potential friend show up out of the blue and see they're only there to get a view or two and leave. Its not just here that it happens. Thanks for the responses in this regard however. Its more than we see from most people that do this sort of thing.

Trust me, I understand. That's why I said your complaints were perfectly valid. I'm sure normally, most people posting videos wouldn't really initiate much dialogue, but I legitimately want to hear crit on my videos (which, yeah, I know I need the crit).

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want it to look like I'm just here to dump my videos and that's it. At the same time though, I haven't really found a place to get involved in the community yet, and that I see how that could've given off a bad impression on my end. So I apologize on that end.
and I respect you more so for saying this. If its critique you're wanting, I cannot say for sure (you'll have to ask a mod, I guess), but creative actually does seem like a good spot after all. You won't necessarily get a lot of responses but its more of an open to discussion sort of format.

I tried posting there originally, but my post was moved here by a mod/admin. Not that I mind or anything, but I imagine they want to keep youtube content creation out of creative discussion for the sake of focusing on other forms of creativity that don't usually get the spotlight? That was the impression I got, anyway.
Well, as I said, I'm not entirely sure in that regard and you'd have to ask a mod.
Well, for now, I'll stop posting videos here until I can find the time to get more involved with the rest of the community. Or maybe just post main episodes, so I can spend the rest of the time getting involved. I dunno, one of the two.
