Oh shit, that actually looks good.

I thought it was going to be some game based 100% off the film that, if you've never seen it before you wouldn't like it. But damn I am impressed by that. It's like what Borderlands should've been but with a realistic tone to it.

My only complaint is that the fighting seems really crappy. It just seems like when you do your 10 second cutscene qte combo on a downed person everyone just stands there and watches you instead of trying to fight you. I get that they want you to be able to complete the combo without someone stopping it, but I really just hope that the fighting isn't just fight this guy while everyone else stands still.

I do hope the gunplay is decent as well. I'd love to destroy people with a Sawn Off if given the chance. I have an odd feeling they're going to give it to you from scavenging it off a dead person and it only has one shell in it.

Thanks for showing me that man, I'm definitely going to get it now. Still, no high hopes for it. I've been disappointed too much and I'd rather think it's going to be bad and then be surprised that it's good.

If all goes well it'd be one of the few and select license games to actually work out. From the looks of it they are at least trying their best to get it out of the pit whose bottom is lined with copies of ET. I'm definitely gonna be getting it as well, I do love me some post apocalyptic free roaming mayhem.

Ah man, I hope that isn't as bad as it sounds.

On the upside, if someone else buys Konami, they also get Hudson Soft (Konami has really just been sitting on them). So, we could get new Bomberman/Adventure Island/ Bloody Roar(IIRC, BR5 was in development before Hudson went of of business) games. Really, Hudson, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Metal Gear are the only things making them worth anything (and maybe Castlevania).

It'd be nice to see a few more titles, but if it takes Konami being chopped up, I'd really rather not honestly.

From what I understand, it's mostly about the CEO, Satoshi Sakamoto, wants to make a bigger push into mobile games. And eventually gambling machines, if the gambling laws in Japan are changed.
Kojima uses big budgets for his games, which Satoshi doesn't like despite how much of a profit is made.

So the two butted heads for years because of the differing views, until now.
I would expect to see less actual games and more mobile/f2p stuff from them. We'd be lucky if they sold off their IPs to other companies.

I can't much say I'm surprised. The only real non-fan efforts to strive into online play for Yu-Gi-Oh! are either designed not to be updated in card stock, or go on a "casual" model.

Just so you know, it's not. The New York Stock Exchange merits a grand total of .29 percent of Konami's profit. Pulling away from them was probably the only smart move Konami has made this year.

I hope Kojima Productions becomes a standalone company, or at least a subsidiary to some other big company, and he manages to snag both the Metal Gear and Silent Hill series from under Konami's nose.

I don't know how I would feel if there were no more Silent Hill games.
