It baffles me that that thing would be considered canon instead of GT.

To be fair, GT relies on the earth having apocalypse marbles.

Heh, I forgot about 90's anime dubs. Not sure if I'm enjoying the acting or if it's taking me out of the moment, but Eva seems pretty interesting, so I might as well keep watching.

Incidentally, how many episodes of Dragonball are there? I've never seen it and I wouldn't mind getting into it, but it seems like I'd need to catch up with a lot of stuff.

153 Dragon ball episodes.
200-291 for DBZ depending on localization.
64 for GT.

I guess Kai would be the definitive edition of DBZ because of the remastering.

Eh, that's debatable but its a good route to go. It stops at the Cell saga so you'd have to go to a different one after that point, and Cell's voice in Kai is kinda bad from what I've heard (didn't watch Kai myself).

So what, in that case Mira and Towa are actually married with a kid named Fuu, Mira really does end up in control of Earth and Vegeta and Goku really do seem to kill each other in a fight at some point? That's all a little hard to accept honestly.

Now the main reason I came to this thread was to talk about an anime called shigatsu wa kimi no uso. It's a pretty new one so I'm not sure how popular it is, but man, it's something that needs to be watched. Anime like this one are the kind that make it okay for me when they don't always have the happiest settings, because everything else about them is incredible. I really suggest to anyone who likes Slice of Life or romance to check this one out.

Finished watching Digimon Frontier. I liked the show for the most part but it kinda fell flat near the end and Lucemon was offed way too fast. Dynasmon and Crusadermon weren't really that interesting as villains either, especially when it was quite obvious what would happen with them. I also didn't like how pretty much every other main character's digimon became useless after Takuya and Kouji got their Mega evos. Even the final fusion form was kinda lackluster.

Since there is still no sight of Tri, I started watching Data Squad. 20 episodes in, so far so good.

I'm on a total anime high right now. Right after finishing shigatsu wa kimi no uso, I found another anime called Nourin and marathoned the whole 12 episodes. It was pretty funny but one of the jokes in the early episodes took up at least 5 minutes of and it was just a typical Japanese underwear joke that they have guys and girls go through. Surprisingly, the anime took a more serious turn for the last few episodes but it was a welcome change of pace.

Now I'm trying to watch this anime called Rumbling Hearts and I'm on episode 9 out of 14 with an OVA at the end. It's not bad but I do feel it's a bit slow, which is odd for an anime that short. If anyone wants to try it, I will warn you now that is some nudity in it, so if that bothers you, you can skip it. It's honestly so far not all that great anyways so far, so you won't be missing that much if you don't watch it.

A quick few changes to this post, Rumbling Hearts really isn't that bad but it takes a while to go anywhere, and some of the characters don't really seem to have much point. Or least I assume so, because I didn't watch the OVA's. Turns out I was wrong, there are actually 4 OVA's and they are all alternate endings. Personally, I see no point in them unless you are unhappy with the ending the anime gives. Since I was fine with it, I decided to skip them. If anyone watches them, that's all up to you.

Edit: Can anyone suggest me some good romance slice of life anime? I honestly prefer one's that happen during the characters school life because like with Rumbling Hearts, there's just something that's not as interesting without that aspect. Unless you know of something like Bakura wa Minna Kwaisou, where the characters carry the anime well enough that the school life takes a back seat or isn't even needed. I'll warn you, I've seen a lot of anime already that fall into this kind of preference so anime like Working! Lamune, H20, footprints in the sand among well over 100 hundred others I'll have probably already seen. The more obscure or unknown it is, is probably the better. Also, last final addition here, supernatural is not really preferred because I've seen anime where males and females switch places and start characters start falling in love with the switched gender versions of themselves, one couple was even odd enough to fall in love with the person they had switched with, body and all, and no, none of that please. Sorry if this seems kind of picky but I know what I like and I want to make sure that if I'm asking for suggestions, I understand what I'm saying so I'm sure everyone else does.

School Days.

Sunday, Monday, happy days...

If you want less traumatizing moments in your daily dose of anime, Bokura ga Ita is a good one.

Repentant, I'd say just google "anime that is like x" and from there see what you can find.

I guess you could try Mysterious Girlfriend X. I read about 85 chapters before I forgot about it since the site I was on didn't have the full collection and stopped reading it.

It really was good, it did have a weird supernatural subplot to it, but in general it's just a guy and a girl living a school life together. There is an anime to it as well if you don't want to read.

I watched it in Japanese with subs and was kinda "meh" about it, but I saw some clips of the Persona 4 anime English dub and thought it was hilarious. I decided to just order the Blu-rays since I really don't remember a whole lot of the anime version anyway. I think the main thing that upset me was how Ai's character was handled since she's my favorite NPC; they weren't able to portray her character development for time reasons.

You know, after listening to Eva's soundtrack, I've noticed a lot of modern anime lacks something very important.

MODAFACKEN TRUMPETS.

Eva's trumpets are great too.

As much as I'd love to go through the entire Eva soundtrack, I'd rather not listen to all the music before I finish it. Plus I got a test tomorrow.

I don't get how people can hate Ruby and Sapphire's soundtracks. Trumpets are the best.
