2016 Delays/2016 Q1 Getting Crowded
#1
So, in the last few weeks, several games have been delayed. The ones that come to mind are oddly, Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice, Hitman, Star Fox Zero and Persona 5. While P5 doesn't fall into Q1, and in fact will probably be Q4 outside of Japan, it does seem like we are getting very swamped in Q1 next year. With all that said, here's a look at what we believe (assuming there are no further delays announced) will be released for first three months of next year:

Star Fox Zero: TBA Q1
Hitman: TBA Q1
Sonic Boom Fire and Ice: TBA Q1
Uncharted 4: March 18th 2016
Street Fighter V: Expected Q1 2016
Ratchet and Clank: Expected Q1 2016
Hyrule Warriors Legends: January 21st
Final Fantasy Explorers: January 26th
Lego Marvel's Avengers: January 26th
The Witness: January 26th
This War of Mine: The Little ones: January 29th
Amplitude: Expected January 2016
Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen: Expected January 2016
Xcom 2: Feb 5th
Battleborn: Feb 9th
Project X Zone 2: Feb 19th
Naruto Shippuuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4: Feb 9th
Gravity Rush Remastered: Feb 10th
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: Feb 23rd
Mirror's Edge Catalyst: Fed 23rd
Tom Clancy's The Division: March 8th
Killer Instinct Season 3: March 24th

That is a total of 22 games expected to be out, not counting Indies and not compensating for Paris Games Week or PSX both of which could busy up the first quarter even further. This list also doesn't include some lesser known titles that are likely coming out in Q1 that I can't find release dates for. I found these 22 games in about 5 minutes of research so I'm willing to best there's a lot more on the way.

I guess the questions I'm asking is, do you have a problem with the increased delays, the games that are delayed, or the busy release schedule that Q1 is looking to be?

My personal thoughts are that this could be a problem for me, because I was intending to buy several games that are on this list, but now possible money issues, the want for the 80 dollar Uncharted 4 and 100 dollar Street Fighter along with any other special editions that may be announced along with not having enough time to play all the games I want, is kind of troubling. I almost want some of these games to be pushed to Summer just so that it won't be so dry a time and so I'll have more time to get money to pick some of them up.

This opening post is getting long so I'm gonna stop there. Anyone have anything they'd like to add?

Cuphead was supposed to be released this year, but it also got pushed back for 2016 as well.

As I said, I knew I didn't get everything. Any idea when it's planned to be released, or do we not know yet?

Dark Arisen getting re-released again?

Also, so many delays. I wonder if it's a fad in the dev industry.

I'm actually happy when I hear about delays. It means the dev team actually got to get closer to a reasonable development time.

They developer(Studio MDHR) stated that when Microsoft came on board to help out the development, it made the game 'greater than they imagined it', something on the lines of that I don't remember what he exactly said. All they said was the game was being pushed back to 2016. No word on a date yet. So its pretty much in the TBA zone.

In that regard yes, I'm always pleased. It also means a better game in the long run, but there are a lot of games coming now in a very short period of time which has me concerned, espeically since release date doesn't seem to be factored in for a lot of these games.
