Have a look at how Pit swings his hammer in Kid Icarus, along with how he does so in the Super Smash Bros. Series:
(Note how Pit walks and how he wields his hammer, as seen in the Boss Dungeon twards the End of the Video freeing the Ceturions)
(Same said for Kid Icarus: Myths & Monsters, where it's used for the same purpose as Kid Icarus, saving Centurions (not just in Boss Dungeons))
(You'll be able to see Pit's Hammer Swinging Animation in the Rounds against the Metroid and Metal Gear Gear Franchise)
(You'll be able to see Pit's Hammer Swinging Animation at 3:21)
You might notice that Pit's Hammer Swinging Animation in the Smash Bros. Series bares a similarity as to how he moves and attacks whilst wielding a hammer in Kid Icarus and Kid Icarus: Myths and Monsters. Fairly Unique from the Other Fighters, since he doesn't move his whole body like them.
