Sorry to keep talking about this, but now they've announced exactly where Jacob's remains were found. The location is just over an hour away from where I live and I've been in that town before. I know that the sad fact is that there's plenty of other people who've more than likely been murdered and their bodies yet to be found, but for some reason it's just hard to wrap my head around that I have been very near to an area where a dead body was hidden.

I just don't understand why this man was left to molest kids for so long. It wasn't until like last year he was finally arrested for child pornography possession.

I'm honestly dreading hearing more details. I already know what to expect but I don't want it to be confirmed what happened to Jacob before he was murdered and then how it was done. Just... This man had preyed on so many other kids. Why did he let them go and kill Jacob?

I don't really understand that part of your post, are you being sarcastic?

In North America, "pot" is a slang word for marijuana. "Pot-banging" would have referred to protesters who were smoking marijuana.

And "I'm sure their protest was percussive" was literal, with a double meaning:

This is it. 27 years later the entire truth about what happened to Jacob came out. I just watched the press conference and Patty Wetterling actually spoke, breaking my heart when she said that all this time she'd believed Jacob was alive until his remains were found. For 27 years this strong, brave woman never gave up hope.

I'm done posting about this now, I promise. Like I said I grew up with this case so this is huge and devastating news. I hope Heinrich winds up murdered in prison. He got a damn good deal out of this.
