The next Superman film will be the first with a Black actor as Kal-El with WB also committed to hiring a Black director.

So instead of taking advantage of the black Supermen from the comics they actually have (Steel, Val-Zod, Calvin Ellis/President Superman), they decide to simply turn Kal-El black? Seems lazy.
Hell, Steel already got his own live-action film back in 1997 starring Shaquille O'Neal. And while not exactly a leading role, Steel was featured in the animated adaptation of Reign of the Supermen. It has been done, it is possible. Sure, the 1997 Steel movie was "eh", but I'm sure that nowadays they can do a better film.
EDIT: let's imagine an scenario where instead of making movies and games with Miles Morales, Marvel instead decided to turn Peter Parker black. How do you think people would react? People would call it "lazy", "low effort", ect. It's the same deal with a black Kal-El.
What I'm trying to say here is that DC has plenty of great black characters (or great characters that just so happen to be black), give THOSE guys a chance in the spotlight. Give to Steel or Val-Zod or Calvin Ellis their chance to be the lead in the silver screen. EXPLORE those characters. Stop ignoring them.
Moving on from Superman, did you know that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 was supposed to be released ten years ago YESTERDAY??
The movie was supposed to be released on May 6th, 2011 but as you all know it was cancelled.

This deleted scene from Infinity War, thought.
It would be cool for Marvel to release a 40-minute short film or something that explores the birth of Professor Hulk in the MCU, instead of having that character decelopment off-screen.
Speaking of Hulk, remenber 2008's The Incredible Hulk? Yeah, I've actually seen people that didn't knew this movie was a part of the MCU. Thought it makes sense considering it barely gets referenced or acknowledge by Marvel themselves. Also, for those who don't know what happened to Abomination and The Leader (he was teased near the end of the film) in the MCU.
Abomination is imprisioned in Alaska. This was mentioned in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1 episode 13. Spoiler:It was confirmed that Abomination is set to return in the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
As for The Leader/Samuel Sterns, he was captured by Black Widow shortly after his mutation. As seen in Marvel: The Avengers Prelude: Fury's Big Week #4

Scarlett Johansson criticises ‘hypersexualisation’ of Black Widow in Iron Man 2 (Actor says her character was ‘talked about like a possession’ in her first appearance in the Marvel film franchise)
The scene she is talking about is this one:
More specifically, she's talking about Tony's dialogue at the end of the clip.
First off, Scarlett Johansson is quoting the line wrong. Tony Stark never said he "wants some", he said that he wants one. By this he means a wife that could kick ass and such. Tony is a guy who always wants something, that always "wants one". Natasha knew Stark's weakness and he exploited it in order to get close to him.
This wasn't about Natasha Romanoff, it was about Tony Stark's flaws and the way in which he allowed himself to be checked by Pepper Potts.
Moving on from that scene, in the article Scarlett Johansson also talks about how Black Widow was kind of lame or underdeveloped (or at least that's what I understood. At various points it looked like Scarlett Johansson didn't really knew how to express herself or get her message across). In which case I have to agree. Overall, Black Widow in the MCU didn't really have a lot going for her other than calming down the Hulk for some reason, at least until Endgame came out and well, you know what happens in that movie. Keep in mind that Black Widow is not supposed to be a one-off or background character, she's part of the core cast of the Avengers; a menber of the original team. I haven't watched the Black Widow film so I don't know if they actually succeded in giving more depth to Black Widow's character or if the movie is a bad as people say it is.
Your character can be sexy/physically attractive and still be interesting, just saying. Then again, maybe I'm giving Scarlett Johansson too much credit.
"But Black Widow did something! Remenber the time she tricked Loki in Avengers 1?" - My dude, if you actually remenbered the movie then you would know that Loki tricked Black Widow, not the other way around. In fact, he manipulated all of S.H.I.E.L.D. Loki was playing 4D chess.
And before any of you brings up Hawkeye, he's gonna have his own TV show soon.

Decided to give M. Night Shyamalan latest movie OLD a shot. This is what I think of it. SPOILERS of course.
I really did have low expectations for this movie. I didn't even want to see it but just did to kill time while I was out in the town. I begrudgingly purchased the ticket and I was very much ready to mock it. Mr. Shyamalan built a reputation where it is hard to take him serious and it is hard to actually critique his flicks without ridiculing it. Even with his most popular movies, those only leave me in dismay for what M. Night Shyamalan will eventually evolve to.
Yet, I cannot say the same about this movie. OLD is the the rare type of movie that is SO abysmally bad that it evert itself to become a good movie. I do not place it in the same league as The Room because that movie is solely enjoyed to make fun of. No, what I mean is that Shyamalan was able to make a good movie out of garbage. I was mesmerized by what I was watching. I was actually entertained all the way through and actually impressed by the intent of the movie.
OLD is a horror thriller and the subject of Age Acceleration is used as a crutch for what the movie exceeds in... To make the viewer as uncomfortable as possible. The bewildering twist of this movie is that the victims of this movie is just a Guinea pig experiment for a Pharmaceutical corp. The reason why they are doing this is because they are able to use experimental drugs and actually get to see how the drug function on the long term thanks to the Age Acceleration caused by the Beach. What the movie fails in part of the twist is that the morality isn't explored in the movie and is more of an afterthought but it does work and is is completely nonsensical that it actually enhances the horror element of the movie.
All of the characters are horribly written that they all become nonsensically unpredictable that I was unable to guess what the movie was going to do next. This is a skill so powerful that anytime a character does an action, that in of itself is a jumpscare. It is hard to comprehend without the context of the movie but let me assure you that you will be befuddled with how these characters interact with one another that you won't be able to tell if any of them will do something so completely stupid that it makes me want to know how the writing process was. Dialogue is shit tho.
As for the technical aspects of the movie, it is serviceable to a point but it does led me to question Shyamalan skills as a filmmaker when it comes to cinematography and shot composition. The film is pure high energy and chaotic enough that the way the film was shot will leave you feeling uncomfortable.
This movie needs to be seen in the theatre because this requires 100 PERCENT of your attention. I was in awe by what Shyamalan was able to do that I am now convinced that he the filmmaker version of the Pied Piper. If you know about the Pied Piper lore than you can sort of guess where I am going with that title.

Had the opportunity to see the movie Pig starring Nicolas Cage. Phenomenal. GO SEE IT.
I am completely fortunate to see this movie in the theatre. When I heard that there was a movie coming out about Nicolas Cage going on a mission to save a Pig, I just had to watch it. It delivers and it is already in contention as one of my all time favorites.
Pig is a dark and depressing movie that is more of a character study of Nicolas Cage's character. What I thought the movie was gonna be is just another John Wick action flick. Mind you that I didn't actually see the trailer so I was expecting a B movie starring Nicolas Cage. However. what I got to see was more of a drama thriller that proves that Nicolas Cage is a beast to be reckon with. I can feel the emotions that Cage was instilling as Robin Feld. Enamored by Robin's quest to rescue his Pig and seeing the reason why he became a hermit left me feeling for the poor chump. Robin is basically the John Wick of his universe, the exception being that Robin is much more grounded and the anti-badass of this movie. The side characters are also great and Nicolas Cage sidekick does a lot to show why Robin is what he is. A favorite scene of mine is the conversation Robin has with a former co-worker from his younger years. Also props to the director Michael Sarnoski as this was his first movie and very much excited for what he does next.
This movie is fantastic and I highly recommend it for people that enjoy dramas and the like. Especially if you enjoy an hour and half of Nihilism and Depression.
2021 is gearing up to be a fantastic year for movies. Lately, a lot of shit movies just kept churning out that it left me exhausted and disillusioned with the sole exception of OLD. M. Night Shyamalan made a fantastic movie that reinvigorated my excitement for upcoming movies.
The ones to look out for is the Green Knight, A Night in Soho, Dune, and The French Dispatch. Three of which are coming out the same day.

So I got around and watched the Captain Marvel film to see what the deal was.
I wouldn't go as far as to call the worst MCU film, but I thought the film was... meh. It was mid-tier at best.
Speaking of the MCU, the first Captain America film is now 10 years old.

Review for the Green Knight.
A good word to sum up the movie is underwhelming. Now don't get me wrong, the filmmaking aspect is exceptional and one of the best looking movies out there. I have zero complaints about the filmmaking aspect. Yet, the story is extremely shallow and left a lot to be desired. The symbolism and themes means nothing if the story does not adequately tether and justify the actions of the characters and events pertaining to said themes. The journey of the character Gawain is basically confronting death and coming to terms about what differentiates man from legend. Basic Chivalry stuff and I got behind the message of the movie but the journey to get there was just frustrating. None of the events in the movie plays out naturally, a lot of weird sexual energy, and I was just not invested in the protagonist. It's more spectacle than nuanced. I can't really recommend the movie because of how unconventional and hollow it is. I did like whenever the Green Knight showed up but the promise that THE ENTIRE MOVIE IS FOUNDED ON AND ABOUT ISN'T EVEN SHOWN AND JUST ABRUPTLY ENDS is the most important grievance I have about the movie. The movie should've been called "Blue Balls" instead of the "Green Knight" as that is the more accurate title.
