Discussion: Where Would Be the Place to Post a Trivia Submission About Enemy Audio?
#1
I have come to learn that there are enemies in the Mario franchise that get their audio from having Mario's voice clips slightly tweaked and pitch shifted:

If someone were to post a VGFacts Submission about this, would it be best to be Mario series trivia due to that stuff being used in more then one game or Super Mario 64 trivia like the submission about the audio used for Boos?

Apparently the source to what mentions Charles Martinet's voice being pitched for the Thwomp's Grunts took me to a video of Mario's voice clips from SM64 and not something that shows how it had been lowered down. This either way is what the Thwomp Grunts sound like unaltered, not sure though on which of Mario's voice clips it's supposed to be taken from: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/SM6...unt#Trivia

Yes this is a wiki that I'm sharing, but I guess that the Sound Effects Wiki much like TCRF might be another exception when it comes to forbidden sources.

Let's take a look at each of Mario's voice clips in Super Mario 64 to see which of them ended up being tweaked to make audio for the NPCs: https://themushroomkingdom.net/media/sm64/wav#Mario

We already know what made for audio for the Bob-Omb Bubbies, Monty Moles and Goombas, but we currently don't know for certain about the other NPCs.

It seemed at first that the unaltered dialogue of the Thwomp sounds was unused dialogue for Mario in Super Mario 64, so I talked about it on TCRF's Discord since it wasn't on SM64's Cutting Room Floor page, but people tell me that it's not something unused, and that it might've been recorded specifically for Thwomps and anything else that makes the same kind of sound. But of course if anyone were to decide to post a VGFacts Submission on how the Thwomp sounds were made, they could explain the real meaning of the unaltered clip, of which can be found in the 2nd video I have linked above at around 0:16.
