At the Movies!
Today I watched James Cameron's True Lies. I liked it. Pretty good film.

I just found out that a fourth Jackass film is coming out soon. It's called Jackass Forever and its premiering on February 4. It's been ten years since the last movie.

And yes, I know that Jackass originally started as a TV show. Shut up.

I just watched 2010's Who Killed Captain Alex: Uganda's First Action Movie. This movie is unlike any other film I've seen. At first this may seem like your typical b-tier or c-tier movie, but if you consider the context then this is so much more. This film had a budget of a meager $85 (no, it wasn't $200) and it was made in the impoverised, undeveloped nation of Uganda. These people wanted to have fun and create a kick-ass film. There's geniune love and passion behind this film.

The movie is free to watch on YouTube.

Wakaliwood has come a long way since then. They have better equipment now, among other things.

EDIT: what's interesting is that I knew about this film since 2017 thanks to the Ugandan Knuckles meme, yet for some unexplained reason I never bothered to watch this film until yesterday. Huh. Speaking of which, Ugandan people (at least some of them) like the Ugandan Knuckles meme.

Yes, I know the original trailer (which was uploaded in 2010 on YouTube) went viral to the point that Ray William Jonhson talked about it but for some reason all that went past my radar at the time. I found about the movie seven years after it was originally released and two years after the full film was posted on YouTube.

This is baffling to me. I never was a fan of Disney during this era but it was my only source of entertainment. Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers had reruns and I could never vibe with what the series was going for. It just seems like niche disney characters being retooled and repackaged back then for me(They also had a show called House of Mouse that would re-air classic cartoons, which is how I know that Chip and Dale were established characters). Which is exactly what is happening here but it is now a successor of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Truly baffling.

I like the premise and it does look promising but I can't stand the voice actors they got for these Chipmunks. I rather hear the high-pitch Alvin-knockoffs that were their previous voices. Other than that, it looks average at best.

Remenber when Sony announced they were going to make a movie based on the Spider-Man character Morbius the Living Vampire? Sony released the trailer yesterday.

Saw The Batman during the weekend and let me just that the previous Batmans doesn't hold a candle to Robert Pattinson version of the Batman. The movie is fantastic and I highly recommend it if you can withstand 3 hours of Dark, Brooding, and downright depressing take of Gotham.

So GOOD!
