Elvis won three grammy awards. None of them were for Rock and Roll. Every single one of them was for his Gospel music. ANd of all the songs he recorded, he wrote 0 of them. That's not a typo, ZERO.
Devo liked to push limits of audience interactions during their live shows, such as wearing diapers on stage and pulling edible brownies out of the diapers and eat them or even throw them into the audience. (They were most famous however, for their 1981 hit "Whip It"). Maybe they had a right reason to be so crazy, as they had all been Kent State students back in 1970, the same year of the infamous Kent State Shootings. Guitarist Jerry Casale was in the crowd that was fired upon and was standing beside one of the victims that was killed during the event. He personally knew two of those killed. The band formed as protest against the U.S. government for the horror they had all personally been through.
And another funny Devo note, lead singer Mark Mothersbaugh and the lead singer of the Pretenders, Chrissie Hynde, grew up down the street from each. Before either would go on to become famous in their own rights, they were even in a band together called Sat. Sun. Mat.
