Fire Emblem - With memorable characters, storylines, and the loved/dreaded perma-death feature, each game produces a unique experience that leaves you waiting eagerly for the next game. Also, it's like chess with violence.
Animal Crossing - A fun series that encourages creativity while also being competitive. Also contains one of the best forms of multi-player I have seen.
I do have a couple of questions:
1. Can I nominate later if I think of any more franchises?
2. What about series such as Super Smash Bros or the Shonen Jump Stars games? Although they contain many different characters, do they count as a franchise? Each Super Smash Bros is marketed as a Super Smash Bros game, and everyone knows what to expect from it.
