...Wow Land Before Time is old; came out a year before I was born. Just decided to check on that.
Anyway, apparently there was a major fight between Spielberg and Bluth about the scenes and the Sharptooth attack was only left in because it was needed to explain why Little Foot was alone. They even went so far as to asking a child psychologist if it would actually traumatize kids.
It's really fascinating to look around on the net and see the tiny pieces left of these scenes in the form of cels and even a tiny bit of Ducky footage from a trailer.
Don Bluth was responsible for The Black Cauldron getting censored as well. Here's a glimpse of missing elements that were found:
