I'm not gonna say it's good or bad because it has good and bad to it. Good because if you're a sampler, (someone who pirates and buys the real thing if they like it) it actually helps sales a bit, but the number of actual pirates outnumber the samplers by far, but at the same time any money lost to pirating is theoretical because it's not a physical product so you don't automatically lose money you lose prospective money meaning you're assuming everyone who pirated your product would have bought it if they didn't have that ability. So basically I'm in the middle, because as a pirate myself I can't be against it, but I can't just flat out deny that it can cause damage to profits, and does, but not to the extent that companies try to make you think, and it's stealing.
Edit: Although if I'm gonna get right to the point it is more bad than good, but as stated before it's a grey area for me as I'm a pirate myself.
