This is part 1 of a long number of episodes; not every episode will introduce the series as a whole, because that would be ridiculous. You have to remember that a number people that view our videos are in the age range of 9-13. These people would have barely even played Minish Cap, never mind Ocarina of Time and A Link To The Past. Some people how no idea on the extensive history of a series such as this without conducting research themselves. We've alleviated that research in 1 minute.
Episode 1 of any series we cover will inherently require that we tell you what that series is.
Maybe. But cereal is not leftover trivia, nor was it vital to understand that video. That would have fit in very well with a DYKG video (was would the fact is shared the box with another famed Nintendo franchise). But it was highly out of place in what I would call a video on cut game content.
I feel that your intro video could have been just a few sentences and did the same thing instead of a minute and a half. Just because you go into less detail doesn't mean you aren't showing how vast and important the series is.
