I'm currently working on a pet project which has been getting less and less of my attention for like two months now...
I'm planning to write a web application which helps nerds get in shape. Rather than just a fitness monitoring site with 'achievements' tacked on I actually plan to release a 'fitness fighting game'
I plan to tie in to the FitBit (A wireless fitness monitoring device) and use the data which it produces to create a fighting game. The idea is that you set yourself some goals and the site will provide you with daily targets - beat those targets? You'll randomly attack with a special attack or a critical hit.
The idea is that you challenge a friend or a stranger over the course of a week (since a single day is just not enough time - especially if your routine over a week includes a rest day or two) - once the week is up your battle animation plays and you see how you did. These will be archived and recorded for future playback. Private, Local and National ladders would be something I'd implement pretty quickly for those who find competitiveness the best way to motive themselves.
The concept isn't fully formed yet but I have an idea of the implementation and general set of features. I suppose once I stop slacking off I'll have more down.
