Reviews. Do you trust them?

I've realized that I usually only read reviews if it's a game I'm really not sure about getting. I've been happy I've done that a few times, most recently with Aliens: Colonial Marines. This is about the same when it comes to movies.

I don't trust them that much, and I don't usually look for reviews by IGN or Game Informer. Then again, I just found out that Edge gave 999 a 6/10 when it came out, so it has me rethinking their reviews too. Then again, when do I ever read Edge before a game comes out?
