Sorry for sounding really nerdy with this but it was Naughty Dog who first made Crash, then a bunch of other studios made some of the various other titles but it was originally Naughty Dog's mascot until Jak and Daxter came along.
So your statement is correct just not the right company. If I remember it was Sly Cooper that was their cute character title.
