I don't really like earlier episodes of the series that much but I started to be interested in all the characters and wanted to see their lives fleshed out as the series went on.
I've never had any desire to watch Evangelion and shows like Naruto that are 90% filler I refuse to watch. I do think that Bebop might be a tad over hyped, but it is one that a good chunk of people do seem to get into easily.
My personal favorite anime of all time is The Big O, which is seems like a lot of people remember but never really got attached to it. I'm really big into shows that let their characters have distinct personalities. Plus the story really grabbed me until that stupid confusing ending.
Looks like I'll have to give it more than two episodes next time I want to give it a shot.
I'll also have to try out Big O, which I have been meaning to watch ever since it aired on Toonami back in the day. The one thing that stoped me before now is the fact that people really over hype old anime.
Still, I really love Trigun, even before people told me how good it was.
