The other crossover ones I haven't read so I don't know if they touch on the last volume's story or if that took place in the middle somewhere.

That's a kind of an annoying quirk Marvel series tend to have, having the story continue/end in some other series. I was reading Cable & Deadpool and there was a whole story arc that apparently happened in X-Force.

I guess that's what happens when you have a dozen different series set in the same continuity running at the same time.
