That's called a 2D fighter, which pretty much every successful fighting game franchise is. 3D fighters like DBZ games from Budokai Tenkaichi 1 and onward tend to do poorly in comparison. By all rights, this game using a Tekken like engine should produce the best product possible for a pokemon fighting game.
Personaly, I like DBZ fighters over Tekken. I preffer the feel of each game (at lest the older games) to the hard to master controls of Tekken.
That's typical of someone who isn't hardcore into fighting games, so I assume you most likely aren't. However that doesn't change the fact that DBZ games fail horribly as fighters in a financial when compared to any decent fighting game franchise.
Does it help my argument if I say that I prefre Dead or Alive and Marvel Vs Capcom over Tekken?
