Majora's Mask is one of those games that takes a silly premuse (a boy with a fariy goes out to fight an evil pig) and makes you stop to think. I mean yeah the moon is kinda derpy looking now adays, the game is way too short and it's padded to hell with side quests but I have a question. How many times did you care for any of the NPCs in any game? Most of the time, Link will talk to someone any then smash pots and leave. That's most of the charicters in a Zelda game, with the exeption of like two or three in any given game. MM give you the chance to really care for the bunch of 1's and 0's. Granted (like you said), some of the NPCs do get left out of conversations like the chiken man, the postel worker, or even the invisible guard, but they are still likeable enough that you still care for them. If a game can make you feel guilty for not reuniting a couple or saving a little girl from being abducted when you don't do these quests, there must be something there. I've seen many of the side quests on best of lists. I really don't care what TrailerDrake has to say.
The one thing that I still like is the bonus dungeons when you get all the masks. The kids at the end make me think way more then I think the development team wanted me to.
I WILL give Drake one win by saying the game is kinda repetitive and the story is overshadowed by the sidequests........ which doesn't stop me from calling it my second favorite Zelda game, right behind Twilight Princess.
