A long update on my thoughts of KHD
As stupid as the levels being used as items, I'm getting use to the game. I like the way they put the different worlds from the PS2 games into a small DS cart. The challenges are easier and more doable now that I'm a few levels higher. I like the designs of most of the new Heartless and I'm starting to care about the new girl, Xion.
That being said, I still hold my opinion that this is the worse KH game so far. It feels more like a Gaiden game from how not important it is to the grand scheme of things, and if it wasn't for Xion appearing in KH3, I would say skip it. The worlds are only there for fan service and to show "why" the organization is there in the first place, if even that as only Xaldin being at Beast's Castle is explained. Speaking of explaining things, why is Pete in Agrabah? Shouldn't he be inside some new dimension or something?
I've also found that most of the Organization members are unlikeable..... like at all. I don't like Demyx, Xaldin, Saix, or even Roxas. The only ones I like are Xion (even though she spends most of the plot off screen and we see very little of her), Xigbar (when he's not standing in the way of my attacks), and Luxord (even though he's as flat as the rest of the cast). In fact, why is there a game centered around Organization XIII? Heartless Nobodys with no emotions can not carry a game, especially if you go out of your way to make them unlikeable. That brings up another plot hole. How can Roxas fly? You need happy thoughts to fly and the last time I checked, Roxas has no idea what "Happyness." Spoiler:Even if you bring up the plot point in 3D that Organization XIII members are growing hearts, there's also a plot pont in this game that says Roxas has no idea what any emotion is. Though the scene where Roxas wants to know what love is and even asking Axel "What is love?" made me laugh a little.
The few Heartless bosses are kinda dull I don't have any opinions on them.
In the end, it's most likely a good idea they put only the cut scenes in Kingdom Hearts 1.5, becuse I don't think most people could sit though the whole game. I most likely will not be revisiting Kingdom Hearts Gaiden after finishing it.
