The Chit Chat Thread: 2 (Electric Boogaloo?)

I just found out tomorrow's assignment -- I'll be interpreting for the Prime Minister of India during his visit.

Good stuff !

Here's an action shot from today !

In the first booth, there's my colleague and I (English>French, French>English), and in the booth next to us, our Indian colleagues (English>Hindi, Hindi>English).



So when the Canadian Prime Minister spoke in French, we'd interpret into English, then the Indian interpreters would relay our English and interpret it into Hindi.

Then when the Indian Prime Minister spoke in Hindi, our Indian colleagues would work into English, which we then relayed into French.
