That was different, they didn't want to waste resources on that since it was coming out near the end of the DS's life and since no one bought DS games due to how easy it is to emulate them they most likely wouldn't have broke even.
I mean, I don't know what stopped them from releasing it as a 3DS download like a DSi title or something, they would've got sales for it. I assume they most likely wanted to release it, but once the translation project was nearly there, there was no point.
There's also the matter of the first game selling like crap.( not that any Phoniex Wright game sold that well.)
That and I think it would be hard to turn this game's setting into Japanifornia like the other games.
Truly the best setting in videogame history. Old-Style Japanese Village just a train ride away from Los Angeles.
