I don't want to change the topic into DLC, but you'd be surprised by how many people stick up for this. Like how they've paid full price for a product with locked away content and then defend a company on it.
As for this, yes it's a shit idea BUT, I think it was made with best intentions. It's Valve testing out a new idea and people already hate it. No real issue, it'll be gone soon. But I think it also shows how gamers can be just as a big of a scumbags as the the big corporate entities within gaming. "Put some shit fishing mod up on Steam and charge people for it as opposed to the Brutal Doom mod I just downloaded which is free".
