Why would you give the joke character a story mode? The main point is that he's weaker then the other characters and it really does not make sense to me. That being said, Yamada Hanatarou in Bleach: Shattered Blade is really weird to play to the point that I have found a way to beat his story mode by cheesing each opponent.

I'm also thinking of playing the game with him and making him play as Yamada just to piss him off.

To explain the joke for those of you who don't watch Bleach

Yamada can not attack without healing his opponent. You need to use attacks that don't use his Zanpakuto, and even then, his finishing move (which does use the Zanpakuto) does pretty much half a life bar of damage.
