I bought them "As is" and "for parts only". They work.. kinda. I can get them to boot now and then by adding some wires around. (I don't know how people break these things..)
I was wondering the same thing when I was trying to buy a PSP. One was, and I quote "missing a button, doesn't affect gameplay". The "button" was the control stick. There was also one that was mysteriously missing its battery. There's a reason I don't have a PSP on my list on the previous page.
