Well, that's some horrible news to wake up to.
What's even worse is that he died two days ago, and apart from Nintendo none of us knew.
It's really sad to see him go, and there's not telling what's going to happen to Nintendo. He was the guy that was stopping Nintendo from going full mobile, or at least having ports of Pokémon, Mario, Zelda on phones. Hell, the guy was a genius even liked to code random stuff in his spare time.
Such a shame his final years were spent with all that stress and difficulty of trying to keep his position as CEO, sell the Wii U and having to deal with people at the company trying to get him fired.
We just never understood. He tried to get us to understand, but we never did. ;_;7
Well, I just hope whoever takes over from him will have a good heart, and good intentions for Nintendo. Not just some suit who cares for money and stockholders then the games the company makes.
Gotta give the man respect though. No matter how ill he was he still kept going to company shareholder meetings and everything. Hell, he was at the last meeting a week ago.
What's even sadder is that he lived to see his last E3. An E3 that he thought would be fun and fulfilling but instead it was treated with disgust, anger, annoyance, disrespect and a whole lot more. The fans didn't get what they wanted from that E3 and people started to complain to Nintendo about it. Iwata's final month was around people who were angry and disrespectful.
Actually. Looking back. Those Muppet presentations in the Nintendo Direct were probably done to hide Iwata's bad health totally from the public, or at least to give him some rest for when he is really needed.
