I've not read the comics and have no idea if that kid is even in the comics or what to expect, except I know Negan kills Glenn with Lucille in the comics

The short answer is no.

The long answer.

He was made up for the show. In the comic, it was just Jessie and Ron, who was about the age Sam is. Ron is the reason Jessie (along with himself) dies, Douglas (Deanna's comic counterpart) dies, and (as a result of Douglas) Carl loses an eye. You could also say that he is the reason No Way Out (what this episode and the next are based off of) ended, since it was Carl's eye that made Rick want to stop the mega horde.
