I'm not sure if GhostLight ever actually submitted this, so here goes...
Sabreman, in the Sabre Wulf series, was the inspiration for Sabrewulf in the Killer Instinct series.
In the Sabreman series, Sabreman first appears in Sabre Wulf which has the protagonist searching for for four pieces of an amulet while avoiding various enemies and the titular Sabre Wulf.
In the third game of the series, Knight Lore, Sabreman must find a cure for his lycanthropy (being a werewolf).
Ultimate Play the Game developed and published the Sabre Wulf series. Ultimate evolved into Rare.
