Damn Trigun got pretty emotional by episode 18 onwards.
I thought this was just going to be "the adventures of anime deadpool ft. insurance girls" for 25 odd episodes with comedy, action and maybe a bit of romance, but instead I got a pretty messed up background of Vash and Knives, and some pretty emotional events that I didn't expect.
This is what I enjoy about anime that surprises me like this, when I watched Angel Beats and it suddenly became super sad it caught me off guard, whereas in Clannad I expected the sadness and when it came I wasn't as saddened by it as I should've.
Still got around five episodes left before I finish the series. Really good if I do say so myself. Has a good balance of action and comedy, and the parts where they do focus on story are not boring like some animes tend to have.
