...Well, it's already like that, especially in Saint Cloud. I guess Minnesota has the highest amount of Somalian refugees out of all the states and it's not going well. Honestly, due to how they act, it's understandable. It's not racism issues it's cultural ones.
Doesn't help that Black Lives Matter is out of control here either. They're starting to just beat up random white people to get "revenge" and they'll block major roads while protesting and won't get out of the way for even ambulances.
It seems like all of this just happened all of a sudden and I hope where I live stays the way it is. I'm sorry, I know it sounds racist, but now the lack of diversity is almost comforting because that's what keeps my city so peaceful. We have drug problems but murders and/or extreme violence is very rare.
It's one thing to want to be politically correct and not offend anyone, but it's another to actually live here and experience these things firsthand.
I've lived in Minneapolis (Lake St and Cedar Ave.), if anyone knows that area they know to move. Shakopee has an area that you do not want to live in unless you don't mind cops showing up a lot (walked out of my apartment to find out there was a guy being held up at gun point).
I hate thinking racists thoughts, but situations like this makes things worse.
Although I might stay where I am at now since it's on the edge of the cities so it's easier to get out if needed. Plus less populated (might change soon) and more like a small town than a city.
Woah, had no idea someone from this forum has lived so close to me! That's pretty neat! I really hope where you're at stays OK. Moving sucks. But you're right, unfortunately it can't be helped because you hear all these stories about these foreigners moving here that are very true and they have completely ruined various cities/towns in Minnesota.
I also appreciate that we can talk about touchy matters like this openly. It took me so long to reply to SERIOUSLY because I was thinking it over, but I wanted to be honest as well.
I mostly visit the "safe" areas of Saint Cloud, but at one point I ventured into one of the "bad" parts because I heard of a game store that was there. Very neat place, but I'm too scared to visit it again. While I was there a white merchant was trying to help a black customer check out. The customer's card kept getting declined and he lost it, claiming the merchant was racist and that his card was fine (how the two are correlated is beyond me).
I had my cellphone out and was going to dial 911, but thankfully he just ended up leaving.
