Princess Leia from Star Wars does not wear a bra in the original movies (aside from the Slave Leia outfit, but whatever). This is because according to George Lucas, "there's no underwear in space." Acoriding to Carrie Fisher's 2008 autobiography, Wishful Drinking, George Lucas explaned it to her as such:
"So, what happens is when you go to space and you become weightless. So far so good, right? But then your body expands??? But your bra doesn't — so you get strangled by your own bra."
Carrie Fisher found this very amusing and has told her friends "no matter how I go, I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra." Despite dieing of heart complications on December 27,2016, some news sources did state that her death was due to drowning in the moonlight, strangled by her own bra.
