True but I don't see why they've "modernised" their consoles by adding a subscription service yet removed all aspects of what little social gaming the Wii U had. No Street Pass and Miiverse. Also the VOIP is via a paid smartphone app.
Like...I can't. Like what Nintendo? How? I can't understand the thought process behind stuff like this.
This isn't even about having a cake and eating it, because you can have these things within the system since they are aren't mutually exclusive. I pay for Xbox and PSN services and am given all of the social gaming/community stuff I need but I pay for Nintendo Switch Online and receive less than the free service they had before?
