To win in Ecuador, due to being 6 parties, you need at least 40% of the vote and be over 10% over more than 2cd place.
Ecuador has gone to the polls, and it seems that ruling party candidate LENI PRESIDENTE LENI LENI PRESIDENTE is in the lead.
Rumor has it that non-candidate Jaime 'Your Boy' Nebot may win the write-in votes by a landslide.
Leni was over 10% more than Lasso, and was at about 39% of the total vote. Basically, just a few votes off of winning outright. That being said, Lasso will probably get much more support from people that voted for the other 4 losing parties, so the run off between the two will probably be closer.
Edit: One of the interesting platforms that Lasso is very clear on that Leni is not: he plans on turning Julian Assange over to the authorities, as he has been holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for the past few years to avoid arrest.
