I don't think I would want to see Metroid being as dark and gritty as Castlevania.
I mean, just because a project shares the same director/producer/whatever doens't mean it has to be similar. Take for example Stanley Kubrick; 2001 and Full Metal Jacket are completely different from each other yet they are still directed by the same dude.
