Thing about the ESRB is that its different from other rating systems in that its independent of a government body. It is its own organization in the form of a non-profit. This gives The US a distinct advantage in regards to these things as companies have a more clear choice to make when it comes to whether or not they'll go through the ratings. Usually with whether or not its a PC exclusive.

This also means that there's no governmental regulation in regards to these things. I'd rather have lootboxes than go through the censorship hell that is Australia or Germany.
