~3 years too late but the whole IGN "Too much water" shit is true those stupid fuckin' Third gen Pokemon games have way too many water segments to the point where it's obnoxious. It's the exact same thing mechanically as if half of a Pokemon game took place in caves, except it looks pretty so people ignore it. Then the rest of the game is filled with tons of caves, narrow bridges full of grass, giant fields full of super tall slow grass, etc. Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald easily have the most tedious overworld of any Pokemon game out there.
