I think the premise of Death Note and the first half is frikkin' incredible. I was completely into the entire Death Note series. It wasn't some generic loli-bullshit but had a great story and one that I felt was original. The characters L and Light are memorable and very interesting.

The second half the anime dipped and it wasn't as interesting. I still liked it and thought it ended OK but it wasn't as good as the first part.

Have you read the books by the way?

L.A.B.B Is extremely well written with an amazing plot that'll make your head explode whereas L Changed The World isn't as interesting but it did have a film on it (and the film is ....meh, too rushed).

I completely agree with you. I was so hooked in the beginning, up until L's death. After that I was seriously considering not watching any more of it. The ending isn't bad though, just surprising. Light really became desperate in the end.

I've heard of the light novel and the movie but I haven't read/watched them. Wasn't sure if I should read it but since you speak so highly of them I'll check them out.
