I often see people who think that being the protagonist of the story and being the villain of the story are mutually exclusive concepts.
Being the protagonist/main character of the story has NOTHING to do with moral aligment. There are plenty of protagonists who are evil bastards (AKA villains). With that being said I understand the confusion, as most of the time the main character tends to be a hero or at least someone who you can root for.
