Remenber the Comics Code Authority, one of the United States' premier censorship bureaus? It was created partly in response to Fredric Wertham and his book Seduction of the Innocent, a scholarly study which supposedly demonstrated an influential connection between severely troubled children and the comic books they read.

There are two trivias here:

EDIT: I forgot to mention this, but the Comics Code Authority no longer exists. It fully ceased operations on January 2011.
