Sonic's first ever 3D appearance was not Sonic Jam, but actually Christmas NiGHTS Into Dreams as a bonus level titled Sonic into Dreams.

(Gameplay.)

Christmas Nights came out in Dec. 1996, Sonic Jam came out June 1997.
