What a fool I was, I bought the game when it was new without reading a review because... It's a Sonic game; run fast, reach goal, great game. Little did I realise the atrocity that was Sonic '06. I wasn't aware of the slump that the Sonic franchise was in after Sonic Adventure 2, I personally love SA2 and so Sonic was the best thing in the world in my eyes. Heroes was OK but not perfect and then '06 killed it. The bad camera from SA1 and Heroes was back, the floor wasn't solid in areas, Silver became a thing, Blaze's story from Sonic Rush was made pretty much non-canonical, bestiality occurred and 1001 other things are wrong happened. In the games defense, the cut scenes looked nice and... that's about it. If they'd spent more time on the game and not just rushed it to be released for Christmas they would've had a good game. Mephiles was a good character and if the game was such a flop they could've made a new game detailing the true origins of Mephiles and Iblis. If this was already explained in the game, please excuse me but can you blame me? I was too busy being dead to pay attention. Anyways, the game could've been good if Sonic Team hadn't been greedy.
The worst thing was, the whole game testing team was fired because they all said how bad the game was...
At least they are back on the rise after Generations, let it be a new start for the Sonic franchise and let something as despicable as Sonic '06 never, ever happen again. Mini rant over.
