Damn Mass, I should've been paying attention to what you've been saying. Here, I'll give you some explanations to what I know already from your old post and this one.

Okay, so. It kinda hurts me how excessively shonen A Certain Magical Index is at times and just how incredibly weird it is at other times.

The main character is a mid-class pervert yet acts all oblivious when a female shows interest. Speaking of, for some reason chicks dig him. A lot. He is ready to throw away his life for people he once saw walk over the road two blocks from where he lives (not something that actually happened but you get the picture). Oh, and the teacher... The hell is that character about? A midget that is portrayed as a child who is into alcohol? Throw that in the loli basket this series seems to be drawing from. Don't even get me started on the "tense" scenes that have a character running through a single room for about 5 damn minutes. That for the shonen, then for the weird.

He's not a pervert, he is literally just unlucky. If you listen they talk about AIM dispersion fields, in which an esper unknowingly radiates this aura, if you will, of their power. Meaning Touma's "Imagine Breaker" is giving him constant bad luck, as luck in their world is supernatural, and so he unknowingly is always cancelling out luck. I don't remember a single scene where he runs around a single room for 5 minutes unless you count the bit where he is reading books trying to save Index. Although, I'll give it to you, I don't know what the teacher is all about.

Apparently people he used to know back when he was a kid were incredibly scared of his misfortune and thus his parents sent him away and his dad suffered some kind of mental breakdown (don't worry, not a spoiler as it was only briefly mentioned and doesn't really matter anyway). Honestly, if this was the case in everyday life, I would have been sent away too. Seriously, my luck is that bad and I'm well known for it. Then there's all the science and magic talk, most of which I understand none of and makes most of the "explanations" pointless, at least for me. Speaking of magic, the whole Chritsian church thing is just ridiculous and stupid. I'm no religious fanatic, far from it, but they could have just replaced it with any made-up cult and nothing would have changed. The only reason they used Christianity is to explain a brief appearance of an angel. Who is a little girl in a skimpy outfit, of course. But this is anime so don't worry, she's totally legal.

That's the point. The whole religious plot in the anime is meant to be a joke and to not be taken seriously. It's easier to take an existing cult and make fun of them then just making one up. Also, what skimpy girl? I haven't seen Index in a while, but I don't remember that part.

Btw, on the Christianity... It has been used so well in other manga/anime, like Hellsing or Chrono Crusade. In here, not so much and is just a throwaway they use to explain anything occult (most of which being something that the actual religion would outright ban anyway).

There's my rant and still I keep watching this. Why? I have no idea. Oh, and Index is a total asshole.

I just started watching A Certain Scientific Railgun. I have previously mentioned (and ranted) about watching A Certain Magical Index. To be honest, the only reason I ever watched that show was because I wanted to watch Railgun and heard Index was made before it. I didn't want to miss any possible plot points so I watched that series first, only to now learn it really never even made a difference since Railgun takes place during Index, not after it.

I liked Railgun to be honest. I found it to be pretty good, not better than Index but a good spinoff, but you needed to have watched Index to understand a few plot points in Railgun, It's better to watch it Index, Index 2, then Railgun, Railgun S (which has the best accelerator fight)

Currently my views are more on the negative side. I'm three episodes in and currently the only thing that has happened has been Kiroko being one of the most annoying anime characters I've seen. And honestly, she (and all the other pervy tones) in Index already irked me and now we have another character like her. Do we really need two of them? One is already more than enough. And seriously, what is it with the person who made this series and making female characters into lesbians? I am not really sure if this series is even taking itself seriously or not.

The first few episodes of Railgun are not good, they're pretty boring and are only put in there to introduce Uiharu, and Saten. It gets better, since the plot for this one is pretty good for anime plots. I'll give it to you though, there seems to be a lot of lesbian tones in this anime. I guess it's just general Japanese retardedness. You'll really like the characters in the end, because they're developed on in this more than in Index. Oh and don't expect any Touma, he comes in about 10% of the time.

Oh, and in actual news. I started watching something called Baccano. It seems pretty cool, no idea what is going on in it, but I like it. I really do.
