Apparently was wasn't said was that, JonTron had a huge fight with EgoRaptor over one of the episode(I think the Bayonetta one) in which a (poor taste) joke was said. This in turn caused them to slow down the amount of videos released followed by further arguments off camera. Instead of taking it further, JonTron said it would be best if they were to depart since he still has his "safe zone" (JonTron Show) to go back to and they already had Dan as a replacement.
Pretty sad but that's the main reason. At least they're both doing their own thing and we get to see more JonTron Show.

This directly conflicts with what I know to be true. Sounds like some fan was pretending to be JonTron or someone who knows him to spread some bullshit story.
